Clyde Climate Forest in Inverclyde

We are looking for help from our community with planting and maintaining trees in Inverclyde!

Who is involved?

Green Tangerine, The Conservation Volunteers, Inverclyde Council and The Clyde Climate Forest.

Clyde Climate Forest

The aim is to plan 18 million trees across Glasgow and surrounding areas. This is an ambitious goal and one that is achievable with the right community engagement and support, so get involved!

The vision is to plant the right trees, in the right places to help nature recover and thrive, to protect and mitigate against climate change, and to create an ecologically secure environment for future generations.

What locations are in Inverclyde?

Central Greenock has been identified as a priority area, due to its industrial past, requiring more green spaces and trees to be planted. We are working with the Council and other partners to identify possible sites.

Inverclyde Council has planted 14,633 trees across Inverclyde since 2023 which is amazing. 10,000 of these trees have been planted at Cove Reservoir including Hawthorn, Scots Pine, Alder and Field Maple.

Why should you get involved?

We need to ensure that as many of these trees survive as possible. Recently we helped secure damaged guards and posts around young trees at Cove Reservoir which was very satisfying work.

Come and enjoy a morning in nature helping these trees to thrive. We are also happy to support community groups and organisations wanting to volunteer on a one off basis or organisations who want to donate trees.
