Everyone invited! Bring a sustainable picnic and enjoy the activities.


  12.00-12.05 - Welcome 

  12.05- 12.35 - Book bug story session with Inverclyde Libraries

  12.45 – 1.30 - Nature walk with the Clyde Muirshiel Park Ranger

  1.30 – 2.00 - British Divers Marine Life Rescue demo and information tent

  2.00 – 2.30 - Musician – Shelagh McKay Jones 

  2.30 – 3.15 - Musician, campfire and marshmallow toasting 

 

Other activities include

  • RIG Arts will host a drop in creative workshop from their mobile Art Bus
  • Pick up a bag of litter for a free ice cream
  • Cycling without Age will offer rides for young and old 
  • Games on the beach
  • Information stands

Walk

Join the Gateway Walks Group as they walk from Gourock train station to the beach for the event - all welcome. Great way to meet some of our Walk leaders and try us out.

Gather at Gourock Train Station (meeting point the area to the left of the snack van out the front) from 10.20 and walk will begin 10.30am. It will take about 1.5 hours.

Big Clyde Beach Clean Fun! Sunday 21st April at Lunderston Bay RIG Arts Workshop in their Art Bus 11am – 2pm. Drop in and join an art workshop! Working under the broad theme of ‘The Seaside’, participants will shape and assemble their beach picks into imaginative collages. Everyone can take their work for display at home. This is for adults and children. British Diver’s Marine Rescue 11am – 2pm. Visit their stand to chat about what they do and watch them demonstrating marine rescues on the beach at 12.30 and 1.30. Big Clyde Beach Clean Fun! Sunday 21st April at Lunderston Bay Nature Walk with a Clyde Muirshiel Ranger 12noon/1.30pm. Enjoy a 45 min nature walk learning what amazing wildlife and nature we have on our doorstep. Campfire on the Beach & Marshmallow Toasting 12.30 - 2pm. Enjoy warming up after your litter pick with a campfire on the beach and some marshmallow toasting. Shelagh McKay Jones will join the campfire to sing some songs with both the kids and the big kids at 12.45. Local Environmental Groups & Businesses 11am – 2pm. Big Clyde Beach Clean Fun! Sunday 21st April at Lunderston Bay Happy and Wild Sauna Tent 11am/12noon/1pm. Come and enjoy the Happy and Wild sauna tent on the beach and some wild swimming in beautiful Lunderston Bay. This needs to be pre booked - see link. Shelagh McKay Jones 12noon. Music with our own Inverclyde singer/songwriter Shelagh McKay Jones in one of the gazebos. Shelagh will join to sing some nature related songs for us. Gather around. Beach Games 11am – 2pm. Big Clyde Beach Clean Fun! Sunday 21st April at Lunderston Bay Silent Disco Litter Pick and Free Ice Cream 11am – 2pm. Pick and groove away with our silent disco equipment. If you pick a bag of rubbish off our shoreline, we will give you and the kids a voucher for free ice cream kindly provided by Bay Ices or some free fruit kindly provided by the Coop. Feel free to go further afield to pick up litter in the woods or surrounding areas. Unveiling of Dolphin Sculptures 11.30am. Inverclyde Shed, RIG Arts and Green Tangerine will unveil dolphin sculptures created from rubbish collected during the Spring Clean. Everyone welcome!
